Doug Sloan was highlighted by reporter Ian Thoms in the July 7th edition of the Northwest Current in an article entitled "Statehood Fuels Norton Challenger:" "(Sloan) sees vulnerability in his opponent, mainly in her inability to secure voting rights for the District, even with solid majorities in both houses of Congress and a supportive president. Those were ideal circumstances; and she hasn't gotten anywhere said Sloan."
